Levittown Marching Band Ranks Fifth in New York
Division Avenue High School competed for title at Syracuse University.

The Levittown School District congratulates the Division Avenue High School marching band on a successful performance of its show, “The Immortal Beloved,” at the New York State Band Championships on Oct. 26 at Syracuse University.
Under the direction of Michael Bastone, the band placed fifth in its class with the highest score of the past five years, or 77.60. Student Drum Majors Anthony Montoya and Jason Tiemer, along with Color Guard captains, Dimitra Tzanis and Izhaine Troche led the band through an outstanding season. Field majors, Kara Burke and Jaymee Dietz, and section leaders Brendan Skillman (woodwind captain), Karla Zabala (brass captain), Jillian Power (drumline captain) and Olivia Kavanaugh (front ensemble captain), as well as the supportive band parents, all played vital roles in the marching band’s success.
Principal Joan Lorelli, Curriculum Associate for Music Vincent D’Ulisse and Bastone are extremely proud of the marching band and applaud the musicianship and choreography that has hallmarked an award-winning competition season.
