Levittown Players Selected for Grand Slam Challenge

Division Avenue High School’s John Cruz and Sean Abbate, Island Trees’ Mike Manganiello and MacArthur’s Kevin Monahan, all of whom are seniors, have been selected to play in this year's RTC Rawlings Grand Slam Challenge.

The game, which pins the best Nassau against the top players in Suffolk, will take place at Farmingdale State College Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m.

Cruz and Abbate are also preparing for a state title run and on their way to Binghamton, N.Y. to play in the Class A New York State Regionals.

Suffolk County, which will be coached by Patchogue-Medford's Anthony Frascogna, leads the all-time series, 5-1. Ken Sicoli from East Meadow High School will be coaching the Nassau County team.

This year some of Nassau top players will be Garden City’s James Cauchi, Mineola’s Jim Bulva and Eric Truss from Chaminade.
