Levittown Students Show Off Culinary Talents

Budding chefs cook for crowds in Levittown.

Culinary and food service students enrolled in Levittown’s Gerald R. Claps Career and Technical Center prepared a restaurant-quality meal for family, staff and Board of Education trustees in the Panther Room at Levittown Memorial Education Center.

The menu included prime rib, baked potatoes and cheesecake.

In her welcoming address, teaching assistant Lillian Creedon told parents and staff they should be proud of the students’ abilities to prepare such an excellent meal.

“The goal of our program is to teach students real-life skills they can utilize in the workforce,” she said.

Guests were invited to watch a slideshow of the various culinary activities offered throughout the semester. There was also a food trivia game with prizes for the winners. Guests also had the opportunity to buy baked goods prepared by the students.
