Levittown Teen Beat Man With Wooden Club: Police
The incident occurred Sunday evening, police say.

An 18-year-old Levittown man faces an assault charge after police he beat a man with a wooden club in Levittown on Sunday.
According to police, James Slattery, of 25 Loring Road, was involved in a verbal argument with a 40-year-old man while at a home on Chimney Lane around 6 p.m.
Slattery struck the man in the neck with a wooden club, causing him to fall to the ground and then struck him several more times “about the body,” police said.

The victim sustained abrasions, bruising and a concussion, police said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Second Squad detectives arrested Slattery on Tuesday on Chimney Lane. He is charged with second degree assault and will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police did not say if there was relationship between Slattery and the victim or release a possible motive for the attack.
