Levittown Veterans Awarded NYS Liberty Medals
Three Post 1711 members were presented with the New York State Liberty Medal, the highest honor from the New York State Senate.
On Saturday January 4th, 2020, State Senator Kevin Thomas held a Heroes of New York Ceremony to recognize and celebrate local Veterans, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and First Responders. The ceremony was held at the Levittown American Legion Hall on North Jerusalem Road. 30 individuals were recognized for heroic and exemplary service to their country, state, and communities.
During the ceremony, Levittown Post 1711 Purple Heart Honorees John Gonzalez, Arthur Tripp and Peter Brock were presented with the New York State Liberty Medal, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an individual by the New York State Senate. Additionally, Post Commander Frank Marcinek was honored with a Proclamation for his advocacy and service on behalf of veterans in the community.
“These men exemplify the values of citizenship, service, and bravery,” said Senator Kevin Thomas. “I am proud to thank and honor them, and all of our Vietnam Veterans, for their immense service and sacrifice on behalf of our country.”
