Levittown Woman Arrested for DWI With Child in Car

The woman was involved in an auto accident at a Gulf station at Salisbury Park Drive and Newbridge Road.

Nassau County Police arrested a 38-year-old Levittown woman yesterday for Driving While Intoxicated after she was involved in an auto accident in the parking lot of a Gulf gas station with her eight-year-old daughter in the car.

According to police, Elizabeth Goolsby was involved in an auto accident involving two vehicles in the parking lot of the Gulf gas station located at Salisbury Park Drive and North Newbridge Road. No one was injured during the crash. Goolsby was given a breathalyzer test at the scene of the accident by police and registered a .18, more than twice the legal limit. She was arrested at the scene and her daughter was placed in the custody of a family friend.

The defendant is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated under the Leandra Law (because there was a child in the car under the age of 15), Aggravated Driving while Intoxicated (for registering a blood alcohol content of .18 or higher), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Unlicensed Operation, and three counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.  The defendant was also found to have an open warrant for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. She will be arraigned on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
