MacArthur Students Raise Thousands For Autism Awareness

The students donated nearly $12,000 they raised to the Autism Society of America.

LEVITTOWN, NY - From Levittown Public Schools: MacArthur High School’s Autism Awareness Committee, under the direction of Vin Causeman, presented the Nassau/Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America with a check totaling $11,818 on May 18 to fund and support the organization’s family programming. The donations were raised throughout April during Autism Awareness Month, with the bulk of the funds resulting from MacArthur’s successful sale of autism awareness t-shirts for the school’s Day of Awareness.

NSASA executive director Suzanne Reek was on hand to accept the check, which will help bring Long Island events to fruition that afford families the chance to participate in activities that would otherwise be difficult without the support of the Autism Society of America.
