Man Linked To Overdose Arrested In Nassau: Police

Police say they found more heroin on him at the time of his arrest.

A man from Queens was arrested Monday night after Nassau police say an investigation linked him to an overdose of a resident.

According to police, the investigation centered on Arturo Gutierrez, 34, of 35th Street in Astoria. Police say he was responsible for an overdose of a Nassau resident earlier this year.

Police located Gutierrez while he was driving his 2017 Nissan on Hamlet Road in Levittown at 7:30 p.m. Monday night. He was placed under arrest without incident. Police say that, at the time of his arrest, Gutierrez was found to be in possession of heroin.

Gutierrez is charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
