Man Sold Illegal Weapons at Levittown Flea Market: Police

Among the weapons recovered, police say, were daggers, metal knuckles, electronic stun guns and expandable batons.

A Long Beach man faces weapon possession charges after police say he was caught selling illegal weapons at the Tri-County Flea Market in Levittown.

Glenn S. Sable, 67, was arrested at the flea market, located at 3401 Hempstead Turnpike, around 9 p.m. Tuesday following an undercover investigation by Narcotic/Vice Bureau detectives and the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team, Nassau Police said.

During the investigation, Sable sold a switchblade knife and kung fu stars to undercover detectives at his sales booth, G.S. Cutlery, at the flea market, police sad.

Police said the following weapons were recovered:

  • a loaded Ruger handgun with six rounds
  • 62 daggers
  • 5 cane swords
  • 42 metal knuckles
  • 64 kung fu stars
  • 6 electronic stun guns
  • 64 gravity knives
  • 94 switchblade knives
  • 11 chuka sticks
  • 2 blackjacks
  • 4 expandable batons

Sable is charged with 12 counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Sable was released on $10,000 bond following an arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
