Nassau Police Host Crime Trends And Prevention Tips Event
Inspector Tara Comiskey from the Nassau County Police Department along with POP Officers will discuss crime trends and prevention tips.
From Levittown Chamber of Commerce: Please join us on Wednesday, March 18, at 6 p.m. at Domenico's in Levittown for our general membership meeting. Inspector Tara Comiskey from the Nassau County Police Department along with POP Officers will discuss crime trends and prevention tips.
Inspector Comiskey has been a sworn member of the Nassau County Police Department since 1997. She holds the rank of Inspector, currently assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Eighth Precinct. Comiskey has moved through the ranks, serving as a patrol officer, detective and supervisor in a variety of commands serving the Commissioner of Police. Her assignments have included those related to payroll, purchasing, budgeting, contract law and human resources. She has worked as a liaison to schools and community leaders during her tenure in Community Affairs. Her position in the department’s Legal Bureau and her service as Commanding Officer of the Court Liaison give her unique insight into the functioning of other segments of the criminal justice system. She has served as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the Fourth Precinct in Hewlett and the Second Precinct in Syosset.
Comiskey holds a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University, School of Law. She received an M.A. from Regent University, School of Divinity and an M.B.A from Adelphi University, School of Business. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and PERF Senior Management Institute for Police.

Comiskey has traveled extensively on educational and assistance trips throughout the United States (all 50 states), Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, South America and Antarctica.
Comiskey holds certificates from the Industrial Labor Relations School, Cornell University in EEO studies and Affirmative Action and authored the Nassau County Police Department’s EEO curriculum. Comiskey is an Adjunct Instructor at Nassau County Community and Suffolk County Community Colleges.
