New Principal Named For Gardiners Avenue Elementary

The Levittown School District has appointed John Jared Vanderbeck as the new principal of Gardiners Avenue Elementary School.

Vanderbeck, a Lynbrook resident, joins Levittown from the Lawrence School District, where he served as assistant principal, administrative dean and administrator of the After-School Learning Academy at Lawrence Middle School. He was a mathematics teacher at Lawrence’s middle school and high school as well as a curriculum course designer for mathematics.

Vanderbeck holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics secondary education from Towson University, a master’s degree in mathematics education from Hofstra University and advanced certification in educational leadership from Stony Brook University. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational and policy leadership at Hofstra University.
