Pair Arrested After Assaulting Man Outside Levittown Restaurant: Police

The victim, an employee at the restaurant, was treated at the hospital for his injuries Friday night, police say.

LEVITTOWN, NY- Two Levittown men face assault charges after police say they attacked a man who was leaving his job at a restaurant in Levittown late Friday night.

According to Nassau Police, while exiting Escorza’s Mexican Restaurant located at 2715 Hempstead Turnpike, the 30-year-old victim was approached by Carlos Alfredo-Rivera, 20, and Darwin Noel Caballero, 20, both of 74 Saddle Lane.

Alfredo-Rivera grabbed the victim and punched and kicked him numerous after throwing him onto the ground, police said.

Caballero then struck the victim over the head with an aluminum pipe, police aid.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.

Alfredo-Rivera remained at scene and was placed under arrest, police said. Caballero fled scene and surrendered to detectives on Monday, police said.

Alfredo-Rivero is charged with second degree assault. He was arraigned on Saturday.

Caballero is charged with second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. He will be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
