Pair Broke Into 20 Nassau Homes: Police

A man and woman broke into 20 homes over the past year. See the full list of locations.

Two Queens residents burglarized 20 Nassau County homes over the past year, Nassau Police said Tuesday.

Johana Gomez, 38, and Jorge Guevara, 36, were arrested on Monday afternoon after they tried to break into a home on Foxglove Road in Merrick, police said. They were arrested following a "rigorous investigation" that involved the the Burglary Pattern Team, the Nassau County Asset Forfeiture Intelligence Unit, detectives from the New York City Police Department and several investigative units from multiple jurisdictions within the State of New Jersey.

Gomez, of Astoria, and Guevara, of Bayside, would force their way through rear doors or rear windows and enter the homes and remove items such as assorted jewelry, cash and other concealable items.

They are charged with the following burglaries:

April 26, 2016 – two homes on Cornflower Road, Levittown and Dorset Avenue, Albertson
April 29, 2016 – Bark Lane, Levittown
May 2, 2016 – Lincoln Street, Seaford
June 2, 2016 – Feather Lane, East Williston
June 8, 2016 – Wheatley Avenue, East Williston
June 9, 2016 – Choir Lane, Westbury
June 16, 2016 – E Cypress Lane, Westbury
July 8, 2016 – Grand Blvd, Westbury
Sept. 29, 2016 – S Bismark Avenue, North Bellmore
Oct. 17, 2016 – Red Maple Drive South, Wantagh
Oct. 21, 2016 Hudson Street, Farmingdale
Nov. 7, 2016 – Foxglove Road, Merrick (attempted entry)

Guevara is charged with 20 counts of second degree burglary, three counts of second degree attempted burglary and one count of third degree burglary. Gomez is charged with 19 counts of second degree burglary, three counts of second degree attempted burglary and one count of third degree burglary

They were both scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
