Levittown students return for new school year (longislandpress.com) — Students across the Levittown School District filled 10 school buildings on Sept. 1 as the 2026–27 year officially began, from first-time kindergartners to seniors starting their final year. Superintendent Todd Winch highlighted the excitement of the first day, while Wisdom Lane Middle School students also returned to freshly renovated, school-colored flooring in their building.

2. Levittown sixth graders attend middle school orientations (liherald.com) — Levittown sixth graders heading to Jonas E. Salk and Wisdom Lane middle schools recently got a preview of their new routines through late-August orientations. Students met principals and staff, practiced opening lockers, walked their schedules, and received guidance from older Junior Leaders, helping them feel more confident before officially starting the new school year in Levittown.

Levittown school district ranks No. 5 for most stressful school runs (liherald.com) — Levittown families are being warned that school drop-off around Salk Middle School and MacArthur High School ranks among the nation's most stressful commutes, with heavy congestion and risky driving on Old Jerusalem Road. District officials describe added security, crossing guards and strict protocols, and urge parents to slow down, avoid double-parking, and prioritize student safety during busy arrival and dismissal times.

4. Lynbrook Ladies Auxiliary hosts fundraiser for Lindsey Rose Parke Foundation (liherald.com) — A Lynbrook fundraiser recently honored the memory of 19-year-old Levittown firefighter Lindsey Rose Parke, who died in a January car crash on Old Country Road. The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary hosted a lively dueling pianos night, turning music, comedy, and audience sing-alongs into a donation supporting the Lindsey Rose Parke Foundation's work in her name.

5. Men Finish 11th, Women 15th at Adelphi Panthers XC Invite (farmingdalesports.com) — Levittown runners made a solid showing as Farmingdale State's cross country teams opened their seasons at Adelphi's invite in Bethpage State Park. Freshman Ciara Cromie and seniors Gabriel Aguilar and Aaron Rivera, all from Levittown, helped the Rams place mid-pack against a mix of Division I, II, and III programs.
