PHOTO: Slammers Honored At Citi Field

The under-16 softball team finished third in the Babe Ruth World Series earlier this month.

The Levittown Slammers' latest accolade brought them to Citi Field on Wednesday night, where they were honored in a pregame ceremony before the New York Mets played the Florida Marlins.

The team and their coaches posed behind home plate with the third-place trophy they won during the Babe Ruth World Series last month. The Slammers were the first team from the New York metro area to make the World Series, and pitcher Ashley Massoni became the first pitcher in World Series history to pitch a perfect game.
