WATCH: Mangano, Curran Accept ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Nassau County leaders take challenge to help with ALS fundraising and awareness.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Assemblyman Brian Curran recently took the Ice Bucket Challenge.
After being nominated by neighbors, they joined together to take the challenge at the Freeport Policemen’s Benevolence Association.
The movement challenges people to either donate $100 to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, and to dump ice water on their heads within 24 hours of being nominated. As of Monday, the ALS Association announced the movement has raised $15.6 million in donations, compared with $1.8 million during the same time period last year.
