Watch Southerners Try To Figure Out Long Island-isms

There are some things that people who grew up on Long Island or have lived here a long time just know. But not everyone is lucky enough to call the Island their home, so they might not know what the LIE is, or the proper name for a long sandwich (hero, never a hoagie).

Elena Barilla, a Long Island native going college at the University of South Carolina, decided to ask some of her southern friends if they could identify the things that we Long Islanders know by heart. A few months ago, Barilla asked her friends to try to pronounce Long Island town names, with hilarious results.

Just watch some of those same friends try to identify things like the LIE and The End.
