LEVITTOWN, NY — Levittown community members and loved ones are mourning the heavy loss of two 19-year-olds after a tragic crash occurred on Friday in Hicksville. Police said Lindsey Rose Parke of Levittown died in the crash.

Parke was a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department, Ladder Company 6, and the FD shared a touching tribute on their Facebook page. She was one of two teenagers who died, and the other young woman has been identified as Alexa Duryea of Levittown, police said.

According to Nassau County police, the crash took place at 11:30 p.m in Hicksville. Officers said a 23-year-old male was operating a 2026 white BMW, heading westbound on Old Country Road in the vicinity of Sterling Place, where he lost control of his vehicle, crossed over into oncoming traffic, and struck a tree— and then a building.

"On Friday night, January 23, a nightmare occurred that we could not wake up from. Our beautiful Lindsey Rose Parke from Levittown passed away in a tragic car accident," the page said.

"Lindsey was the most selfless and caring person anyone knew. She was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, friend to all, firefighter, EMT, amazing baker and so much more. Lindsey Rose never hesitated to stop and help, whether it was a person that needed to talk or to being first to an accident scene. She was a go-getter and the strongest person that we all needed in our life," the page said.

"Lindsey would never hesitate for anything or anyone; she wouldn’t take no for an answer and always found a way to get it done and take care of business the 'Rosie' way. Lindsey always baked sweet treats for the firehouse, neighbors, and the all-women’s shelter for single moms in need. Lindsey believed everyone deserved something special, and she showed it in her baking. Lindsey was strong and so full of life, passions, and dreams. She wanted to travel, see the world, spread love, and make sure everyone felt important in their own way. Lindsey was the most gentle caretaker by making sure everyone was healthy, hydrated, fed, whether they were sick or recovering from surgery. She bedazzled everything because it needed more sparkle or just needed her special touch. She took so much pride in everything she did, baking, washing her car, becoming an emt and first responder. There was nothing that could stop her," the page said.

"Lindsey Rose was our rock and the strongest shoulder to lean on, she wasn’t just our hero, she was everyone’s hero!! She was our creative flower that bloomed into the beautiful creation that so many of us got to see grow up into an amazing young woman. She brought life and spirit into our home and everywhere she went. She decorated our home and made dreams come true for so many. We can never thank her enough for everything she has done for us. We will miss you from now till the end of time. We love you in this life and the next, until we meet again, Lindsey Rose Parke," the page said.

A Meal Train has also been started to help support Lindsey's loved ones during this time. The organizer shared on the page:

"Allie’s beautiful niece was taken far too soon at just 19 years old. There are no words that can ease this kind of loss. In the midst of grief, even the simplest daily tasks can feel overwhelming.

"This meal train is a small but meaningful way to surround Allie, Kody, and Allie’s parents with care during this painful time. By providing meals, we can help lift one burden off their shoulders so they can focus on mourning, remembering, and being together as a family.

"Thank you for supporting them with love, nourishment, and presence. Every meal is a reminder that they are not alone and that they are held by a community that cares deeply for them. 💛

"Allie’s niece, Lindsey, is the daughter of Allie’s sister, Annette, and brother-in-law Eddie. If you would like to send anything to the Parke Family. They would appreciate any prepackaged foods like water, soda, and basic groceries so they don’t have to go to a store during this challenging time."
