 leading people to procrastinate and avoid those difficult 
conversations.
This seminar explores the emotional and psychological reasons many 
individuals delay planning, and discusses how understanding these 
barriers can help families move forward.

Why We Avoid Estate Planning: The Psychological Perspective

South Salem Presbyterian Church

The Sanctuary Series located in the historic hamlet of South Salem presents a program entitled, A Young Genius featuring the radiant artistry of flutist Elena Rubin with works by Bach, Beethoven and Newman performed with Series co-artistic director Anthony Newman on piano who will also perform Bach’s Fantasia and Fugue in G minor on the organ. The performance will be in the Sanctuary of the South Salem Presbyterian Church at 4 PM.




Dubbed the “high priest of the harpsichord” by Time magazine, acclaimed keyboardist Anthony Newman is considered America’s foremost Bach interpreter. Over his career he has collaborated with major artists including Wynton Marsalis, Itzhak Perlman, Kathleen Battle, Jean-Pierre Rampal, and Leonard Bernstein. Up and coming flutist Elena Rubin has appeared at numerous festivals where she has been recognized including the Eastern Music Festival where she was a concerto competition winner. Active as a freelancer and a teacher she received a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory. Recently, she moved to Chicago to continue her studies under the tutelage of Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson.

South Salem Presbyterian Church is at 111 Spring Street, South Salem, NY. Advanced tickets are $25 for general admission, $40 for preferred seating and $10 for students when purchased in advance on the Series website www.thesanctuaryseries.org ($30/$50/$15 at the door).All concerts are followed by an artists reception. It is a time just for you, to be in community and connection with others who understand, while you all process your experience through writing and discussion.

 are coming back with their feline friends to let children in grades K –
 5 practice their reading aloud skills by reading to the kittens – and 
cuddling them too!
This program&nbsp;helps children develop their reading skills and their sense of compassion.
 They will learn about animal-savvy behavior and volunteerism. It also 
provides enrichment for the cats and helps them learn to trust children 
and adults through calm, positive interactions.

Questions will cover a range of topics including general knowledge, pop culture, history, music, and more. A great way to gather with your neighbors, win prizes, and compete for the title of Lewisboro Library Trivia Champions!
Reserved seats are $25 per player. The best way to reserve seating is to form your team (ideally 2 – 4 players), and then have a team captain purchase seats for the group. Knowing the number on each team will help us in setting up the venue before everyone arrives. Of course, individual players are also welcome, and we’ll do our best to pair you with another team. Please Note: There are a limited number of tables that seat six players, so reserve your seats today!

Charis Chamber Voices celebrates America’s 250th birthday with Songs of Democracy: Friday April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, 178 Oenoke Ridge Road, New Canaan, CT, and Saturday, April 25, at 4:00 p.m. at Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns, 42 N Broadway, Tarrytown, NY. Charis’s Artistic Director, Jeremy Wiggins, conducts, accompanied by Terence J. Flanagan at the piano.
The all-American program includes Howard Hanson’s Song of Democracy, his setting of a Walt Whitman poem that celebrates the country’s youth, vigor, and destiny. Fern Hill, by John Corigliano, on a poem by Dylan Thomas, is a nostalgic evocation of childhood with just a hint of what was to come. Works by Aaron Copland and Randall Thompson and familiar American favorites round out the program. 
Charis’s famous wine and cheese reception will follow each concert. We look forward to sharing this birthday bash with you!

The Remembrance Parade
The Cannon Ridge Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is pleased to invite you to the Remembrance Parade featuring Gold's Dragoons, The Governor's Horse Guards and Mt. Kisco Scottish Pipe and Drum Corps. &nbsp;This America 250 commemoration honors the Patriots and veterans who supported the cause of American independence, and remembers the sacrifices made at the Battle of Ridgefield. The Parade is free and open to all. &nbsp;We encourage everyone in our community to join as we pause to reflect on our shared American history during the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.&nbsp;
The parade will commence at 12 noon on April 25th from Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church on Main Street ending at the Battle of Ridgefield memorial plaque in Ballard Park with a wreath laying ceremony honoring:
Patriots and Veterans who supported American Independence, particularly at the Battle of Ridgefield &nbsp;
Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Gould, a Gold's Dragoon killed during the Battle of Ridgefield&nbsp;
British troops buried on the battlefield who fell in honorable service to their King
The sold out Black Tie Remembrance Ball will commence at 6pm in the Lounsbury House.&nbsp;
