Camerata d’Amici to Present “Because You Sang, I Sing” May 17 Choral group Camerata d’Amici is delighted to present its spring concert “Because You Sang, I Sing” on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, <a href="https://cameratadamici.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b1936e9306eb66aa00fd64166&amp;id=b35661fb25&amp;e=40ad5f72af" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">6 Ivy Hill Road, Ridgefield, CT 06877</a>. 

Conducted by Kristin Sponheim, the concert will feature music that pays tribute to those that came before us, in honor of America’s 250th celebration.Selections will include “Because You Sang,” by Arianne Abele, “Shenandoah,” arr. James Erb, and “Hold On,” arr. Uzee Brown.
Camerata d’Amici is an auditioned choir made up of singers from Fairfield and Westchester counties. “Because You Sang, I Sing” will feature performances by the full group and a chamber ensemble, as well as men’s and women’s pieces. Featured vocalists will include Thomas Carr (Danbury), James Lee (Wilton), Jeanine Pardey (Ridgefield), and Doug Planker (Monroe).
The choir will be accompanied by Liang-Fang Chang (piano), and Elliot Wallace (percussion).
Tickets at the door are $30 for adults and $10 for youth 18 and under. Advance tickets, with a reduced ticket price of $25 for adults, may be purchased at <a href="https://cameratadamici.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b1936e9306eb66aa00fd64166&amp;id=4cd93321e4&amp;e=40ad5f72af" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">cameratadamici.org</a>. <a href="https://ridgefieldpride.org/pride-in-the-park/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ridgefield’s seventh annual Pride in the Park</a> celebration will take place on SATURDAY, JUNE 6 from 12 - 3 pm in Ballard Park, Ridgefield (Rain location: Yanity Gym) with a parade around the park starting at 1pm. &nbsp; Ridgefield Pride in the Park is a free event, open to the public and catering to families, with a variety of activities, crafts, entertainment and informational tables for all ages.&nbsp;&nbsp;



In addition to <a href="https://ridgefieldpride.org/pride-in-the-park/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Pride in the Park</a>, there will be a multitude of celebratory Pride events and Pride Promotions throughout May, June and July with something for everyone, from our tiniest tots to our seniors. Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe will be featuring their popular Pride ice cream for the month of June.&nbsp; Additional Ridgefield-area LGBTQ+ events and promotions will be announced in the coming weeks on our website <a href="https://ridgefieldpride.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">ridgefieldpride.org</a>.

In these times of social upheaval and division it is essential that we come together and support each other.&nbsp; The LGBTQ community is one of our vulnerable populations, and it is important that we work to lift people up rather than pull them down.&nbsp; Ridgefield CT Pride provides just such an opportunity to do so, so please come join us in celebrating the LGBTQ community.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ridgefield CT Pride is a non-profit charitable organization that was created in 2019 under the umbrella of the 501(c)3 organization Friends of Ridgefield Community Programs.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
