1 Injured In Fire At Senior Housing Complex In Copiague

The fire appears to have been an accident, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY - A man was hospitalized after a fire broke out at a senior apartment complex in Copiague early Monday, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at about 2 a.m. reporting a fire in Building A of Bunt Commons apartment complex on 147 Wartburg Avenue.

One man was transported by Copiague Rescue to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of Copiague Fire Department and Lindenhurst Fire Department extinguished the fire.

At this time, detectives believe the cause of the fire is accidental.
