2 New 'Hotspot' Coronavirus Testing Sites To Open This Week

The two facilities will offer testing in areas that are considered "hotspots" for the coronavirus within the Town of Babylon this week.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY — Two new coronavirus testing sites will be opening up in "hotspot" areas within the Town of Babylon this week. Officials announced that it has joined with Suffolk County and HRHCare Community Health to establish the new testing sites in areas that are seeing higher rates of COVID-19 spread.

The sites are located on 1556 Straight Path in Wyandanch and on 1080 Sunrise Highway in Amityville. Operations will begin at both locations on Thursday, April 16.

The Town of Babylon has the third most coronavirus cases in Suffolk with a total of 3,631 confirmed positive cases as of Wednesday morning. The Town of Islip has the most at 6,020 cases followed by the Town of Brookhaven which has 4,274 cases. North Amityville has a total of 492 confirmed cases while Amityville Village has another 117 cases. Wyandanch has a total of 349 cases.
