2 Robberies Reported Within 15 Minutes Of Each Other In Copiague

COPIAGUE, NY - Two robberies were reported within 15 minutes of each other in Copiague on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police.

The first incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on Albany Avenue.

Two men were approached by a group who displayed a weapon and sprayed pepper spray. The group of men then stole two dirt bikes before fleeing.

The second robbery was reported at about 7:15 p.m. nearby on Somerset Road.

A bicycle was stolen from a youth in a parking lot.

Two adult family members went to retrieve the bicycle and were beat up by several people believed to have stolen the bicycle.

No description was available in both cases.

Police did not say if the two incidents were related.
