3 Caught Selling Nicotine To Minors In Town Of Babylon: Police

Three clerks at local businesses were found to be selling e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes during an investigation, police say.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY - Three store clerks were arrested for selling e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors at businesses in the Town of Babylon on Saturday night, according to Suffolk Police.

In response to community complaints, police conducted an investigation into the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors at 15 businesses.

According to police, the investigation led to the arrest of the following men:

  • David Anthony Nunez, 22, of Copiague, employed at Collado Hookah on 80G Montauk Highway in Copiague
  • Rohit Kumar, 27, of Queens, employed at Valero Gas Station on 10 Long Island Avenue in Wyandanch
  • Yousef Fadhel, 30, of Manhattan, employed at Allah Convenience Inc. on 1308 Straight Path in Wyandanch

All three were charged with second degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

The owners of the above businesses were issued Notice of Violation by the Suffolk County Department of Health.

The following businesses complied, and refused the sale of e-liquid nicotine and cigarettes to minors:

  • Clean Vapor, 37 West Hoffman Avenue, Lindenhurst
  • Dapper Vapor 411 40th Street, Lindenhurst
  • Happy Times, 130 Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst
  • Cloud Worx, 78 Route 109 in West Babylon
  • The Barn, 10 Belmont Avenue in West Babylon
  • The Barn, 2-18 Park Avenue in Babylon
  • Milk N’ Things, 1287A Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon
  • Smoke Hub, 15 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park
  • Vapor Depot, 1878 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
  • Kristy’s Smoke Shop, 1836 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
  • Express Gas Station, 1901 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
  • Sunoco Gas Station, 1580 Straight Path in Wyandanch

The three people arrested were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
