3 Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors: Police
Officers conducted an investigation into the sale of alcohol to minors in the Town of Babylon, police say.

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY - Three people were arrested on Wednesday for selling alcohol to minors in the Town of Babylon, according to Suffolk Police.
Due to numerous community complaints, officers conducted inspections using underage police agents, police said.
The following businesses did not comply with the New York State Liquor Authority and sold an alcoholic beverage to an underage police agent:

- Express Gas Station, 1901 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
- BP Gas Station, 697 N. Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst
- Sunoco Express Mart, 1000 Route 109 in Lindenhurst
According to police, as a result, the following people were charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child and sale to persons under 21:
- Sujan Thiyagarajah, 30, of Uniondale, New York
- Syed Abbas, 35, of Hempstead, New York
- Mamunur Rahman, 26, of Deer Park, New York (2 counts of each charge)
They were all issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned on March 28, 2018.

During the investigation The Barn on 358 Deer Park Avenue in Babylon complied with the New York State Liquor Authority and refused to sell an alcoholic beverage to an underage police agent.
