81-Year-Old Woman Killed in Deer Park House Fire
The fire ripped through the home early Sunday morning.

An 81-year-old woman was killed when a fast-moving fire tore through her Deer Park home early Sunday morning.
According to police, Suffolk County Police First Precinct officers on routine patrol observed smoke coming from the home at 112 Pine Street at about 4:50 a.m.
Multiple fire departments responded and upon entry, Eleanor Didea was found dead on the first floor of the home, police said.

A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature, police said.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives as well as officials from the Town of Babylon Fire Marshal’s office are continuing to investigate.
