Alleghany Avenue Students Receive A Lesson In Leadership

Alleghany Avenue students were recently visited by taekwondo instructor, "Master" Danny Foran of Grand Master Lee's Tae Kwon Do studio.

From Lindenhurst Schools: The students of Alleghany Avenue Elementary School in the LindenhurstUnion Free School District were recently visited by taekwondo instructor, “Master” Danny Foran of Grand Master Lee’s Tae Kwon Do studio, who shared with them some valuable information about being a leader and standing up to bullying. Master Danny, a nine-year veteran of the NYPD, explored with students in grades kindergarten through fifth, what it means to be a leader, and what characteristics a leader exudes. He encouraged students to think outside the box and explore what the bully may be feeling. He explained that students could be the difference in the life of the person being bullied, or the bully if they chose to be a leader.

“You can make all the difference if you treat people the way you would like to be treated, only better.”
