Amityville Outreach Worker Wins Planetree Award

Elizabeth Feliciano of the HRHCare Maxine S. Postal Tri-Community Health Center at Amityville wins Planetree Spirit Award.

HRHCare, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center offering a range of medical services for underserved communities throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island, is proud to announce that Elizabeth Feliciano, an outreach worker at the HRHCare Maxine S. Postal Tri-Community Health Center at Amityville, will be presented with a Planetree Spirit Award for excellence in patient care. HRHCare’s Planetree Institute presents these awards to employees who go above and beyond to make health care more personalized and create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Joining the HRHCare family six months ago, Elizabeth Feliciano, mother of four and grandmother of ten, has brought her valuable experience with the Urban League of Westchester to Long Island; embracing the challenge of presenting HRHCare’s full complement of services to vulnerable populations in a new area with excitement and passion. As an outreach worker, medical interpreter and New York State Department of Health certified assistor, Elizabeth is a sure presence at nearly every HRHCare outreach event on Long Island and has consistently been praised for her warmth by staff and patients alike. She has been a great supporter of HRHCare’s outreach efforts to the LGBT community on Long Island and has recently helped to organize an HRHCare sponsored Health Fair at the Amityville Public Library; giving attendees the opportunity to learn about SNAP, veterans services, health insurance enrollment, nutrition and to receive various health screenings. “I am so happy that a patient can come to HRHCare and can get all kinds of help, even beyond health care,” said Elizabeth. “We have totally changed the perception of what a health center is.”
