I'm wondering what can be done, if anything, about the tropical trees growing profusely along the parkways and choking out all the other trees. They look like mimosa trees but have different flowers and seem to be taking over the roadsides. Driving along Southern State parkway in Nassau Co., there are hardly any maple or oak trees left...just these mimosa like trees that appear everywhere. They are very aggressive and I'm afraid they will quickly overpower all our native trees.
