Bicyclist Collides Head-On With Car, Man Critically Injured

The man was riding a bicycle westbound in the eastbound lane of Montauk Highway when he collided head-on with a car, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY - A bicyclist was critically injured after a head-on crash with a car in Lindenhurst on Sunday night, according to Suffolk Police.

A 34-year-old man was riding a bicycle westbound in the eastbound lane of Montauk Highway, near the intersection of Deauville Parkway, when he collided head-on with 2003 Hyundai Sonata driving eastbound at 10:50 p.m.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip in critical condition. An adult male passenger in the Hyundai was taken to the same hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai, 22-year-old Jason Langdon, of Lindenhurst, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
