Lindenhurst Goes Green! Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer Named 2027 St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal

LINDENHURST, NY — The spirit of community was alive and well in beautiful downtown Lindenhurst today as friends, neighbors, and local dignitaries gathered at Belfast Gastro Pub for the official announcement of the 2027 Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshal, none other than Town of Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer!

Surrounded by elected officials, community leaders, and supporters, Schaffer was celebrated for his dedication to the Town of Babylon and the partnerships that help make Lindenhurst such a welcoming, vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

One of the things that makes Lindenhurst special is the willingness of people from all walks of life, including elected officials working across the aisle, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and residents, to come together for the good of the community.

It is this spirit of collaboration that helps keep Lindenhurst clean, colorful, and thriving. We are a community of stakeholders who understand that creating an environment in which everyone believes they can thrive and feel welcome takes all of us.

The celebration also recognized the generosity behind this annual tradition. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, the 2026 Grand Marshal, was on hand as charitable donations from this year's parade were presented to the Promise of Hope Foundation and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Long Island.

Former Grand Marshal Kevin McCaffrey shared reflections on the special experience of serving in this honorary role, while Meg Danaher of Wealthwave Financial Management, representing the parade's leadership tradition, joined the celebration in support of the incoming Grand Marshal.

A special thank-you goes to Mr. Brogan of Belfast Gastro Pub for graciously hosting this wonderful community gathering.

The 2027 Lindenhurst St. Patrick's Parade will take place Saturday, March 20, 2027, bringing neighbors, families, organizations, and visitors together once again for a celebration of Irish heritage and hometown pride.

And don't forget to mark your calendars for the Grand Marshal Green-Tie Gala on Friday, March 5, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. at The Piermont in Babylon.

Congratulations to Supervisor Rich Schaffer! We look forward to another memorable celebration of the people, partnerships, and community spirit that make Lindenhurst such a special place to call home.

Let’s get ready to paint the town green!
