Captree Fireworks to Light up the Bay

The second annual Go 4th on the Bay fireworks show is steps up to fill the gap left by the second straight cancelation of the Jones Beach show.

The Great South Bay will still light up this weekend thanks to the Captree Boatmen’s Association.

For the second year in a row, a lack of state police officers has led to the cancelation of the popular Jones Beach July 4 Fireworks Spectacular.

The Go 4th on the Bay show on Monday night at Captree will feature fireworks by Grucci.

The other nearby show, on Fire Island, is harder to see from Long Island, but the Captree show should be visible from bay front shorelines from Babylon to Islip, so Lindenhurst residents can head out to Captree for a peek.

The , according to a statement from Fireworks by Grucci. An airplane flyover from the Bayport Aerodrome Society will kick off the festivities.

The show is scheduled for 9 p.m. The Captree association is also sending out viewing boats, which will offer the best views of the show. You can check out various boats for trip ticket prices and time.

The association is a trade group made up of the charter fishing boats that operate out of Captree State Park at the eastern end of Jones Beach Island.
