Cozy Intimate Authentic & great German cuisine at The Village Lantern

This restaurant is great! I have eaten at The Village Kantern several times & have never been disappointed. German restaurants are hard to find & I hope this one stays around for a long time. From the cozy atmosphere to the waiters & waitresses authentic German outfits they wear to the food, live music and cozy atmosphere this place is a true gem & is a treat to have.  If you haven't tried it i urge you to support it and hopefully it will inspire other good restaurants to come to our Village and grow like West  Babylon.  Us Lindy's need to support the good ones in our own town or  Wellwood Avenue will continue to find itself with more for rent signs.  Authentic restaurants and good ones are hard to find and this one offers it all.  I grew up in Queens where  German restaurants used to be in abundance at one time and  unfortunately they seem to be a thing of the past.  Famous German restaurants like The Brauhall in Sunnyside,  Nedersteins  in Maspeth, Gebhardts in Middle Village are all gone The only one remaining is ZumStammtisch in Glendale.  Before the Village Lantern opened the only good one in LI that I found was Fredericks in  Ronkonkama and that closed down several years ago as well.  So let's keep this gem around.  You can get a great meal at a very reasonably price for all the food you get and I highly recommend the Jager Schnizel and considering it is owned by the Black Forest Bakery you get the great pretzel bread and a nice desert when you go with the Prix fix menu deal. Great for special family celebrations or just a nice change of pace.  I don't think you'll be disappointed.  Hope this helps anyone who has not tried it and at the same time support town :)
