A 17-year-old from Deer Park is in serious condition in the hospital with a brain injury following a crash on the Long Island Expressway in Lake Ronkonkoma Monday night, police said.
Ryan Brennan was a passenger in the back seat of a 2010 Nissan GTR that was traveling west on the LIE in the vicinity of Exit 60 at about 10:20 p.m., when the driver, 21-year-old Robert Magnum, of Deer Park, apparently lost control of the vehicle, struck the center median, and then crossed over to the right shoulder where the vehicle collided with the guardrail, police said.
Brennan was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Mangum and a male front seat passenger were transported via ambulance to Stony Brook, where they were treated and released.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
