Dog With Muzzle Taped Shut Found Abandoned on Busy Long Island Road
SPCA chief says "to leave this dog unable to eat or drink, abandoned and frightened on a busy road is heartbreaking."
LINDENHURST, NY - A dog was found with his muzzle taped shut with duct tape on Montauk Highway Saturday and authorities are asking for the public's help to find whoever is behind the "heinous act of animal cruelty."
The Suffolk County SPCA says it received a call from the Suffolk County Police Department regarding the German shepherd that was found abandoned in Lindenhurst.
The Suffolk SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible.
Suffolk SPCA Chief Roy Gross said "to leave this dog unable to eat or drink, abandoned and frightened on a busy road is heartbreaking."
The Babylon Animal Shelter picked up the dog. Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
