Reporting by Scott Moore Update (9 p.m.): The building fire has been place under control, as per emergency responders on the scene. At least one person was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not known at the time. Emergency responders at the scene also confirmed all of the people inside of the building, including its apartments, escaped the blaze. There was no immediate word on how many families were left homeless due to the blaze. Original Story: Firefighters are currently on the scene of a blaze on N. Wellwood Avenue.  The fire is at 202 N. Wellwood at the corner of E. John Street.  Roads are closed in the area of the fire. No word on any injuries or what caused the fire. This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
