Lindenhurst Election Set For Next Month

Check out what you need to know before voting for a new village mayor and trustees next month.

LINDENHURST, NY — Lindenhurst residents will get the chance to vote for their local representatives during a special election scheduled for next month. The election for local mayor and village trustees will take place on March 18.

At a recent event, Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey (R-Lindenhurst) nominated Mayor Michael Lavorata for re-election.

In addition, incumbent village trustees RJ Renna was nominated by his father, Phil Renna, and Joan Masterson was nominated by her husband, Daniel Masterson during the event, according to the Babylon Beacon.

Lavorata was originally appointed as a village trustee in 2004 and was been re-elected three times until he became mayor in 2017. In 2018 he was elected to a two-year term.

Renna was first appointed as a trustee in April 2017 by Lavorata to fill a vacancy. In March 2018, he was officially elected as trustee for a two-year term.

Masterson was originally elected as a trustee in March 2012 and re-elected in 2016.

It is not confirmed if the mayor and both trustees will be running unopposed.
