Lindenhurst Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash
32-year-old man dies in crash Tuesday evening. Other driver flees from stolen SUV on foot.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - A 32-year-old Lindenhurst man was killed in two-car crash in North Amityville Tuesday evening and police are searching for the other driver who fled the scene from the stolen SUV he was driving.
According to police, Reginald Celifie was driving a 1995 Honda Civic east on Brefni Street when his vehicle was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling south on Geraldine Avenue around 6:20 p.m.
Celifie was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Trailblazer fled the scene on foot and an investigation revealed that the SUV had been reported stolen on Dec. 8.
The driver of the Trailblazer is described as black, about 20-years-old, clean-shaven, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8, with a slim build. He was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black wool hat, police said.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
