Lindenhurst Man Points Loaded Gun at Babylon Restaurant Security Guard: Police

It happened early Sunday, police say.

BABYLON, NY- A 25-year-old Lindenhurst man was arrested early Sunday morning after he pointed a loaded gun at a security guard outside a Babylon restaurant, police said.

Atilla Goksen was also in possession of cocaine and illegal narcotic pills, police said.

According to police, Goksen was removed from Monsoon, located at 48 Deer Park Avenue, after he was involved in an incident inside the restaurant, police said.

While outside the restaurant around 1 a.m., Goksen pointed a loaded handgun at a security guard, police said.

Goksen, of 2 Sands Lane, was wrestled to the ground by multiple employees, dropped the gun and fled the scene on foot, police said.

He was arrested a short time later on Main Street in Babylon, police aid.

Goksen is charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree menacing and three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.

Goksen also been arrested numerous other times over the past couple of years, according to court records:

  • In September 2014, he was charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, second degree menacing and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
  • In March 2015, he was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument
  • In November 2015, he was charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug, DWI and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle

None of those cases have been resolved in court yet.
