Lindenhurst MS Students Explore Urban Art With Local Artist

Participants learned how to use the airbrush spray, various shading techniques and stencils usage to personally paint their own materials.

From Lindenhurst Schools: Eighth-grade students in Jacqueline Korsen’s visual arts class at Lindenhurst Middle School acquired creative new skills thanks to airbrush artist Daniel Cross.

During a recent visit, he taught them how to use the airbrush spray, various shading techniques and stencils usage to personally paint their own custom materials. Small groups of students worked with the artist, who owns of Fame Airbrush in Lake Grove, New York, to design and create a custom hat or T-shirt. The
remainder of the class worked with Mrs. Korsen on a lettering project based on 1980s graffiti art and artist Keith Haring whose focus was the element of art “line.”
