Lindenhurst Residents Approve School Budget

Lindenhurst residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

LINDENHURST, NY - Lindenhurst residents approved the district's $163,312,822 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,153 to 596.

The budget represents a 1.64 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 2.36 percent.

In the vote for Lindenhurst Board of Education members, incumbents Linda Aniello and Edward Langone both ran unopposed. Aniello received 1,259 votes while Langone received 1,254 votes.

Jacquelyn Herig beat out Syed Hussain for the seat left open by Robert Vitiello, who announced his resignation last June.

Herig received 1,146 votes while Hussain received 410 votes.
