Lindenhurst School District Hosts Youth Summit
Participants joined in three breakout sessions that support the Lindy Cares goal of inspiring students to reach their highest potential.

From Lindenhurst Schools: On Oct. 9, members of the Lindenhurst Community Cares Coalition in conjunction with the Lindenhurst Union Free School District took part in the third Lindenhurst Youth Summit.
The event, held at Chateau La Mer, aimed to give students in grades six through 12, an opportunity to collaborate with their peers, share their thoughts and strengthen skills in problem-solving, communication, listening and leadership, as well as, the many ways to find common ground, build rapport and feel empowered. The students in attendance were a blend of Lindenhurst middle and high school students who were either members of the Lindy Cares Club or demonstrated an interest. They listened as keynote speakers Gabrielle Anzalone, a Lindenhurst alumna, and Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre, shared their empowering messages and encouraged students to become leaders in their community.
