Lindenhurst Schools Put On Lockout After Threatening Note Found
After the note was found at a local preschool, two Lindenhurst schools were put briefly on a modified lockout on Wednesday.

LINDENHURST, NY - Two Lindenhurst schools were put on lockout on Wednesday morning after a threat was sent to a local preschool.
According to Suffolk Police at 8:15 a.m. a threatening note was found on a desk at Stanford Child Care Center, located at 240 South Wellwood Avenue.
First Squad detectives, Emergency Service Section officers and FBI agents responded and nothing was found.

There were no students in the building at the time the note was found.
Superintendent of schools Dan Giordano wrote in a statement that after the note was found, Alleghany Avenue Elementary School and Lindenhurst Middle School were placed on a modified lockout out of caution.

This meant that students at those schools were not going out at recess but parents are still allowed to come in as visitors and staff were not allowing anyone in the building that they do not know.
