Lindenhurst Students Explore Culinary Arts And College

From Lindenhurst Schools: The Lindenhurst High School Career and Technical Education Department recently welcomed guest chef Savannah Campbell, a college senior in the Johnson & Wales College of Culinary Arts. During her two-day visit, Savannah conducted cooking demonstrations for all food and nutrition, baking and advanced culinary courses.
Throughout the interactive lessons, Savannah shared a variety of culinary techniques that the students could use when preparing and plating meals. She discussed the various career opportunities available to students who pursue a degree in the culinary arts as well as answered questions about the college experience. The presentations concluded with students tasting the sweet potato aebleskiver with rum butterscotch sauce they had a hand in making.
