Lindenhurst Students Share Prize-Winning Posters

Students at Lindenhurst Public Schools share their award-winning fire safety posters.

LINDENHURST, NY - From Lindenhurst Union Free School District: Lindenhurst Union Free School District congratulates the 2017 winners of the annual fire safety poster contest, sponsored by the Lindenhurst Fire Department. Coordinated by firefighter Harry Prodromides, the annual contest invited all elementary students to participate.

Students were asked to either color or draw a picture based on the theme of fire safety. Submissions were then judged and grade-level winners from each school were chosen. To recognize these winners, the fire department traveled to each school with a fire truck and presented the winning artists with certificates of achievement.

William Rall: Onyx Garcia, Hannah Hinds, Brian Samojedny, Patrycja Zylowska and Angelina Paente with Principal Farrah McKenna.

Daniel Street: Annette Wszebrowski, Vivian Zheng, Nicole Varnaza, Nataniel Orzechowski and Alexander Szczech with Principal Linda Domanico and art teacher Alyssa Gilman.

Harding Avenue: William Hawkins, Megan Dill, Angelina Gambino, Kaitlyn Shotter and Madison Gomes.

West Gates Avenue: Kellen White, Olivia Sliwoski, Isabella Panzenbeck, Nicole Tercjak and Anya Pawa with art teacher Valerie Maguire.

Albany Avenue: Jailynn Wilson, Isabella Diaz, Sophia Rosales, Abigail Scaccia and Aniston Abram with Director of Fine and Performing Arts Jon Trapani, art teacher Gregory Alvino and Principal Marcy Miller.
