Lindy Students Take the First Step Toward College

Mini-college fairs being held at high school.

On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Lindenhurst High School students in grades 11 and 12 took part in the first in a series of mini-college fairs.

The high school hosted the event to assist students in their exploration of postsecondary educational options. Representatives from a myriad of colleges and universities were on hand to speak with students about their schools’ programs, the application process and acceptance criteria and procedures.

“These fairs allow our students to take their college search to the next level,” said school counselor Mathew Ward. “They have the chance to have their specific questions answered and hear first hand what college life is like from someone who is in many cases is an alumnus of the school. It’s a great opportunity for them.”
