LIRR Delays, Cancellations For The Evening Rush
BREAKING: The NYPD is restricting access to Penn Station because of "crowding conditions."

The delays and cancellations are piling up so much at Penn Station Tuesday evening that authorities are restricting one of the entrances to major commuting artery because of fears of overcrowding.
The NYPD is "restricting access" to the entrance at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue right now during the evening commute. No doubt, authorities are trying to avoid the "stampede" that left 13 people injured less than two weeks ago.

NYPD is restricting access to Penn at the 34th Street and 7th Avenue entrance due to crowding conditions. There are 10-15 minute eastbound delays and cancellations this evening due to an Amtrak power problem in one of the East River tunnels. Westbound service to Penn is suspended. NYC Transit is cross-honoring tickets on the E train at Sutphin/Archer, Union Turnpike, 71st Ave. and Penn Station; the 7 train at 61st St., Woodside; and at Penn Station and Atlantic Terminal on the 2/3 trains. Mets customers from LI take E train at Sutphin/Archer to 74th Street, transfer there to 7 train.
