LINDENHURST, NY - A 5-year-old Lindenhurst boy exceeded his expectations during his lemonade stand fundraiser this past weekend.

Jayden Magliaro hosted the event to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, with help from his parents, at his Lindenhurst home on Saturday.

He was just hoping to raise more than last year, when he donated over $700 to the foundation.

However Jayden and his mother, Donna Magliaro, never expected to raise over 5 times that this year.

Despite the heat wave, hundreds came out to support Jayden, helping him raise over $4,000 to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.

"It was amazing," Donna said. "People were coming from all over the place I couldn't keep up. The amount of support from the community it blew my mind and touched my heart.

Even some local officials decided to stop by including Senator John Brooks who presented Jayden with a Commendation Award and coin from the NY State Senate.

"It was an emotional day but the support was just amazing," Donna said. "We never expected such an amazing outcome."

While Jayden exceeded his goal during the event, he is still not done raising money. Anyone who still wishes to donate can do so through Jayden's online fundraiser on the Wounded Warrior Project website.

"Jayden is so excited for his fundraising money to help our active duty and veteran men and women get the help they need," Donna said.
