
A Centerport man was arrested on Friday and charged with robbing three Suffolk County banks and attempting to rob another earlier this month, police said.
Following an investigation using video surveillance and multiple Crime Stoppers tips, police said Pattern Crime Unit detectives identified Frank Marquez, 46, as the suspect involved in the following incidents:
- The robbery of TD Bank, located at 2025 Broadhollow Road, Farmingdale, on July 7
- The attempted robbery of People’s United Bank, located at 182 E. Main St., Huntington, on July 14
- The robbery of TD Bank, located at 2178 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park, on July 14
- The robbery of Capital One, located at 1383 Deer Park Ave., North Babylon, on July 21
Pattern Crime Unit detectives, with assistance from officers in the Second Precinct, located Marquez on Pulaski Road near Butterfield Drive in Greenlawn at 10:23 a.m. Friday and placed him under arrest, police said.

Marquez was charged with three counts of third degree robbery, one count of third degree attempted robbery and second degree aggravated unlicensed operation for driving with a suspended license, police said.
Marquez is being held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
