UPDATE: Police ID Man Killed After Being Struck By Truck

LINDENHURST, NY - Suffolk Police have identified the man who was killed as 58-year-old Arye Sachs, of Lindenhurst.

LINDENHURST, NY - A man was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck while riding a motorized scooter in Lindenhurst on Monday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

The man was riding a motorized scooter eastbound on Hoffman Avenue when he was struck by the pickup truck traveling northbound on South Broadway at noon.

The man on the scooter, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck, 62-year-old John Glomann, of Keeseville, N.Y., was alone in the vehicle and not injured.

The pickup truck and the scooter were impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing.
